Travel information:

The university is about a 15-20  minute walk from Leeds Rail Station, which is at the centre of town. It is also possible to catch the city bus directly from the rail station, or several others from just above The Headrow which will drop you at the Parkinson steps. For further information and maps, look here.

For those flying in from abroad, there is a direct train between Manchester Airport and Leeds Rail Station, which actually makes it as easily accessible as Leeds-Bradford Airport, and there tend to be more/cheaper flights from Manchester. Jet2.com runs from many major European cities to both airports. Please note that travel bursaries are for UK fares only, so these can be used to cover your transport from the airport to the university, but we cannot cover international or domestic flights.

If you are flying into Leeds, the 757 Airport Direct bus service runs between Leeds bus and train stations and the airport every half hour during peak times, and hourly the rest of the time. This service runs every day of the week. We are also looking into the possibility of shared cabs going to and from Leeds-Bradford at set times, so if you are flying into this airport, please let us know your flight details asap.

Accommodation:

Single, on-campus accommodation is free on the night of 24th June, but must be pre-booked. Please note that spaces are limited and priority will be given to presenters, then to those coming greater distances. If you require accommodation on the 23rd or 25th, you can book further nights at the on-campus accommodation at your own expense here: https://www.meetinleeds.co.uk/shortbreaks.php.

Leeds also has several independent budget hostels, a good selection of B&Bs and some surprisingly cheap hotels, such as The Queens (particularly if you book online and can find someone to share a double twin with!) YHA hostels in Leeds have no online booking, but can be reached on 01629 592 700.
